Mx of Ceremonies
Guthrie is a native NorthWesterner who loves many things, in both the urban and natural worlds. His formative years in rural Oregon fueled his desire to explore the arts in Manhattan. After completing the Pacific Crest Trail, Guthrie's love for language led him to pursue a Master in Sign Language Education at Gallaudet University. Guthrie is thrilled at the amalgam of opportunities the beautiful city of Seattle offers. Outside of his office, Guthrie takes great joy by producing videos, climbing the tallest mountains, or supporting Deaf Spotlight's commitment to the arts. His motto is simply put:
"Be the best; keep high standards in everything you do..."
Deaf Spotlight Gala: Celebrating Deaf Arts
Fremont Abbey Arts Center, the Great Hall
Saturday, May 12, 2018
6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
Deaf Spotlight will host its very first Gala fundraiser at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, in the historic Great Hall. During this inaugural evening led by our Mx of Ceremonies, the inestimable Guthrie Nutter: we'll have a silent auction and a live art auction; you'll be treated to an elegant plated dinner catered by Seattle's very own Blue Ribbon Cooking; and an exciting scene from Sound Theatre's latest, a bilingual ASL & English production of MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM.
But most important of all, we will celebrate Deaf arts in the Pacific Northwest, and hold an awards ceremony--also our first!--honoring individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the Deaf arts community.
